Safety on HalfChat

Child Safety Standards

HalfChat prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every part of the service. Effective 10 October 2026.

Zero tolerance

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation or exploitation of minors, trafficking, sextortion and sexualization of children are prohibited, including attempts to arrange such conduct. This applies to accounts, profiles, private messages, groups, Moments, Channels, shops and linked apps.

Report a concern

Use the app's Report option or submit a child safety report. Include the username, relevant content/message ID or URL and a description. Do not upload, copy or redistribute suspected CSAM. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement.

Our response

The HalfChat team reviews child safety reports with priority. When we obtain actual knowledge of prohibited material or conduct, we take appropriate action, including removing hosted content, restricting accounts, preserving evidence where legally required and reporting confirmed CSAM to the relevant regional authority or NCMEC as required by applicable law. Private encrypted content is not routinely readable by HalfChat; reports and available lawful evidence inform our response.

Child safety contact

The HalfChat safety team receives reports through the child safety support form and in-app reports. The operator must keep a designated representative available to Google Play for enforcement and review procedures.

Account protection

HalfChat is not intended for children below 13 or a higher applicable legal minimum. Users should avoid sharing private contact/location details with strangers, block unwanted interaction and tell a trusted adult if someone makes them uncomfortable. Suspected under-age accounts can be reported for review and deletion.
