Terms of Use
Effective 10 October 2026. These terms apply to HalfChat messaging, calls, Moments, Channels, support and built-in tools.
Agreement and eligibility
You must accept these terms before using an account to create or share content. You must be at least 13 and meet any higher legal minimum where you live. If you are below the age of majority, use HalfChat with the permission of a parent or guardian. Provide accurate account information, secure your devices and do not impersonate another person or an official account.
Your content and privacy
You retain rights to your content. You grant HalfChat the limited permission necessary to host, deliver and display it to the audience you choose and to enforce these terms. You must have permission to share other people's information or copyrighted work. Read our Privacy Policy; official support/API messages are not end-to-end encrypted like private chats.
Prohibited content and conduct
- Child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, grooming, trafficking or sexualization of minors.
- Threats, harassment, bullying, hate speech, terrorist advocacy, incitement to violence or encouragement of self-harm.
- Non-consensual intimate content, sexually explicit public content, exposure of private information, or stalking.
- Fraud, scams, misleading impersonation, unlawful goods/services, spam, malware or unauthorized automated harvesting.
- Content that infringes intellectual-property rights, evades moderation or violates applicable law.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
Use in-app Report for accounts or content and Block to stop unwanted direct interaction. You can also contact the HalfChat team. We review reports and can remove hosted content, restrict features, suspend or close accounts. Enforcement considers severity, context, repeat abuse and legal obligations. You can appeal through Account status in the app or support. See our child safety standards.
Tools, shops and transactions
Ledger, milk, expense, calculator and reminder tools are organizational aids; verify their entries and calculations. HalfChat is not a bank or a substitute for professional financial, legal or medical advice. Shops and third-party businesses are responsible for their products, fulfilment and disputes. Any paid feature must clearly show its price and conditions before purchase; refunds depend on the displayed conditions and applicable law.
Service limitations
Availability depends on networks and devices; messages, reminders and calls may be delayed or unavailable. HalfChat is not an emergency calling service. Keep independent copies of important records. We provide the service with reasonable care but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Leaving HalfChat
You may stop using the service and request account and associated-data deletion at any time. We verify ownership to prevent unauthorized deletion. Some records or other participants' copies remain as explained in the Privacy Policy. We can restrict use for violations, subject to applicable law and the available appeal process.
Changes and contact
Updated terms are published with a new version/date; significant changes may require renewed acceptance. Questions and disputes can be submitted through HalfChat support.
